This painting is inspired by the afternoon setting sun and the resulting alpenglow effect along the Chugach Mountain Range. November through January bring the darkest days of the year with the sun always low on the horizon. The resulting pastel skies against the frosty trees are just beautiful.

The original artwork was created with alcohol inks on 9”x12” synthetic paper. Compositions are cropped by the artist to maintain overall integrity and best fit the different print options and aspect ratios.
