Rocks
An original alcohol ink painting that has been beautifully transformed into a fine art print, this piece draws its inspiration from the captivating rocks at Whiskey Gulch, a favorite beach located just north of Homer, Alaska. The muted greens, earthy browns, tranquil aquas, and rusty reds come together to tell a rich story of the sea, evoking a sense of wonder and intrigue in the mind of the viewer.
This artwork was created through a unique process that involves both adding layers of vibrant inks and carefully taking away. By utilizing isopropyl alcohol, I was able to skillfully pull up color from between the rock formations, which was later beautifully complemented by painting over the surface with a slate gray acrylic paint.

The original artwork was created with alcohol inks on 8”x10” gessoed hardboard. Compositions are cropped by the artist to maintain overall integrity and best fit the different print options and aspect ratios.
